106 livestock markets, regional price points and live-animal export ports in 53 countries, across the European Union, Canada, the United States, Mexico, Central and South America.
Prices: the European Commission's official weekly beef, pig, lamb and poultry prices and monthly raw milk prices for every EU member state; Statistics Canada monthly live-weight prices; USDA steer and hog prices; and the Cepea indicators for Brazilian cattle, hogs and poultry, shown as Cepea publishes them. Shown in euros, dollars, pounds, yen, yuan or reais. Available in English, Spanish, French and Portuguese.
In the European Union, cattle prices are carcass prices per 100 kg by EU grade: young bulls, steers and heifers of conformation R3, cows O3 and calves under eight months. Pig prices are carcass classes E and S per 100 kg, and piglets per head. Lamb is heavy and light lamb carcass, poultry the whole broiler at 65%, and milk the raw cow milk price per 100 kg. Canadian prices are live weight for slaughter steers, cows, feeder calves, hogs, lambs and chickens, plus raw milk. United States prices are negotiated slaughter steers (live) and barrows and gilts (carcass). All are converted to euros per 100 kg, or per head for piglets.
European Commission prices are weekly, except milk, which is monthly; Statistics Canada is monthly; USDA is weekly. GrainsMap refreshes them every day, runs each print through its quality checks and holds back anything that looks like a unit or data error rather than publishing it.
Each market is coloured by its role: breeding, finishing, processing, and live-animal export and import ports. A solid ring marks an official published price; a dashed ring marks a GrainsMap estimate, built from nearby official prices and transport costs, and always labelled as an estimate. In Brazil the Cepea widget is shown unaltered, in reais, as Cepea publishes it; any figure at other Brazilian markets is a GrainsMap estimate, not Cepea's. Carcass and live-weight prices are never ranked against each other. Market notes at the foot of the map summarise what is moving livestock markets.
